Human Rights Due Diligence Toolkit Webinar
Due diligence legislation is becoming increasingly important worldwide as companies face growing pressure to be responsible and accountable for their actions. To demonstrate how SLCP’s CAF can support companies in their due diligence obligations, SLCP is developing a Human Rights Due Diligence Toolkit. We will be introducing the Toolkit through a webinar on Wednesday, 10 May. Please follow the links below to register for the two sessions. If you are unable to make it to both sessions, don’t worry, as the recordings will be made available to you.
  • Session 1- focus on European legislation (10:00 CEST / 13:30 IST / 16:00 HKT)
  • Session 2 - focus on US legislation (08:00 PST/ 11:00 EST/ 16:00 GMT)
Electronics Pilot
SLCP is planning to launch a small-scale pilot in the electronics sector this quarter. The aim is to test the applicability of the CAF in electronics, and to gather learnings that can inform future sector expansion plans. If any of our existing signatories with connections to the electronics sector are interested in finding out more, and potentially taking part, please contact Holly in the Secretariat. We will keep all signatories informed of the pilot progress.

Full Team Meeting in Istanbul
For the first time ever, SLCP recently held a full team meeting, in Istanbul, Turkey. The team has grown significantly since the start of the pandemic and - now that travel restrictions have eased and as SLCP prepares for a new 5-year strategic cycle - the Secretariat felt it was the right moment to get the team off zoom and into one room together. It was an inspiring and memorable week, with lots of useful brainstorming, learning, and team bonding. While in Turkey, the team also held an in-person brand meeting, a Verifier Body forum (more info below), and facility training sessions in 3 cities that attracted over 300 attendees! A huge thank you to all the signatories who supported the logistics and hosted us during the week, in particular to TTEA, EIB, Yesim Group, Nike, Puma and SLN Tekstil. Here is a glimpse from the week:
Quality Assurance Forum in Turkey
Last week we conducted our first regional Quality Assurance (QA) Forum in Turkey. The forum titled 'VRF data quality: a common responsibility' focused on the importance of quality review at the Verifier Body/Verifier level and the critical role played by Verifier Body/Verifiers in delivering high-quality data to end-users. We were delighted to have participants from 16 Verifier Bodies operating in Turkey. We received valuable feedback to inform our continued focus on data quality and look forward to our next forum in the latter half of the year.
