SLCP 2026 Board Elections

SLCP became an independent foundation in February 2024. The Board is a strategic body that shapes SLCP's priorities and ensures it fulfils its mission and vision. It holds ultimate responsibility and authority over key decisions, including strategy, governance, and budget. The Board comprises Signatory representatives (9), independent experts (3), and strategic partners (1–3).

Who can nominate an SLCP Board candidate?

Only Signatories with voting rights can participate in the elections and nominate candidates from a Signatory organization. Self-nomination is also possible. 

Per the SLCP Bylaws, we are seeking candidates with:

• Relevant experience and/or expertise related to SLCP's vision, mission, strategy, and/or operations

• Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and strong decision-making and communication skills

• Proficiency in English

• A solid general understanding of finance, to support informed decision-making, risk management, regulatory compliance, transparency, and accountability

• A consensus-driven, collaborative working style

• Alignment with SLCP's principles and values

• Willingness to champion SLCP's interests externally, with Signatories and other stakeholders

• Availability to serve as an occasional sounding board for the CEO

• Sufficient time and availability to serve (see details below)

• Previous or concurrent board service with other multi-stakeholder or not-for-profit organizations is a plus.

Beyond this profile, SLCP strives for Board diversity, particularly in geographic and cultural background, gender, skillset, and experience.

What is required of Board members? 

Board service requires the following commitments:

• Meeting attendance (75% or higher):

  ⚬ Virtual meetings held every 2-3 months  

   ⚬ One in-person meeting per year (1–1.5 days)

  ⚬ Additional virtual meetings may occasionally be required

• Representing SLCP at relevant events and webinars

• Workload: approximately 6–12 hours per month, depending on program deliverables, upcoming meetings, and stakeholder communication needs

• Term: a minimum two-year commitment

How does the nomination and election process work? 

The Nominations & Election Committee oversees the process. After confirming each nominee's eligibility and availability, we will launch online voting on 10 November, alongside our annual Signatory Survey. We expect to announce the newly elected Board members in mid-December 2026.
