SLCP joins the UNECE Sustainability Pledge!
SLCP is proud to have joined the Sustainability Pledge, an initiative to promote transparency and traceability in the apparel and footwear sector. SLCP Senior Management Team meeting

At the beginning of May, SLCP’s Senior Management Team met in person in the Netherlands for a productive three days of team-building activities and strategic planning. As a global organization with few opportunities to meet face-to-face, the team found the occasion fruitful and inspiring. Everyone left the meeting more motivated than ever to grow SLCP adoption and to free up resources to improve working conditions.
Temporary stoppage of ALL SLCP VB and Verifiers applications

Effective May 31, 2024, the Verification Oversight Organization (VOO) will temporarily stop the processing of all Verifier Body (VB) and Verifier applications for all SLCP countries. This temporary suspension is due to the ongoing redefinition of the new application fee structure. SLCP will resume accepting applications on July 1, 2024.

During this period , VBs should not submit any new or supplemental applications, as applications will not be processed and have to be reapplied later. Applications submitted before May 31, 2024, will still be reviewed and processed.

To the attention of all VBs and Verifiers - New Technical Bulletin for Trade Unions in China

A new technical bulletin for China on CAF v1.6 questions regarding Trade Unions, Freedom of Association (FOA), and Collective Bargaining (CB) has been published on the Helpdesk. The bulletin provides:

  • A clear overview of all the law-based questions related to FOA and CB.
  • An explanation of the new changes applied to these questions in CAF v1.6.
  • Clarification on how to verify these questions, depending on whether the facility currently has or previously had a trade union during the assessment period.
Please note the new technical bulletin replaces all previous VB technical bulletins that were issued regarding the topic of trade unions in China.
Action Required: Maintain Your SLCP Verifier Body (VB) Status by June 30, 2024
This is a reminder for all existing Verifier Bodies (VBs) and Verifiers that the deadline to maintain SLCP VB status is June 30, 2024. VBs need to apply to APSCA and pay a non-refundable application fee of $6,000 by this date.
Verifiers must have ASCA or CSCA status and be linked to an SLCP-approved VB that is either APSCA Provisional/Full Member Firm or SLCP-approved VB that was active before June 30, 2024, and is applying to become an APSCA Member Firm. Failure to meet these requirements by the deadline will result in removal from SLCP.
For detailed information on the APSCA requirements for VBs and Verifiers, please refer to the Technical Bulletin.
