Fair Wear and SLCP join forces to improve working conditions
In a significant step towards greater convergence of social & labor data, Fair Wear and SLCP today announce a new partnership which will see Fair Wear use SLCP data in their HRDD Facilitation Hub to promote impactful human rights due diligence (HRDD) implementation and eliminate audit duplication.
To formalize our partnership and deepen our collaboration, Janet Mensink, SLCP’s CEO, and Annabel Meurs, Fair Wear’s Associate Director and one of SLCP's Supervisory Board members, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) centered on three main areas of cooperation: data convergence, policy engagement, and industry engagement.

Engagement with Verifier Bodies and Verifiers
One of the many support tools and resources we offer to enhance the competence and quality of VBs and Verifiers is the VB calibration (training) webinars, which are mandatory to attend.
This year, in addition to the quarterly general calibration webinar, we are including regional sessions(four remote sessions in China, Vietnam, Turkey, and Bangladesh and one in-person session in India). These regional calibrations are designed for quality managers responsible for the SLCP program and SLCP data quality and will address country-specific challenges, emphasizing the alignment of VBs on Tool question interpretation.
Yesterday, we hosted the first regional calibration webinar for China, attended by 50 VBs operating there. We focused on new SLCP requirements, such as mandatory data narrative writing emphasizing the importance of the Assessor/ Verifier Explanation in the verification reports. We provided examples of insufficient verification data from past reports to illustrate the importance of capturing detailed evidence and comprehensive explanation of the actual working conditions of the facility assessed during verifications. Additionally, we clarified the Tool´s questions related to trade unions and social insurance in China.
Stay tuned for the next general calibration webinar on June 27, 2024, and the regional calibration webinar for Vietnam on July 24, 2022. Pre-registration links will follow soon.
There are currently 69 active Verifier Bodies (VBs) and 1003 Verifiers. Interested in knowing the profiles and contact details of VBs? You can find them in the VB Active list here.
