SLCP Brazil Soft Launch
Together with our footwear signatory brands adidas, Nike and PUMA, SLCP conducted a soft launch in Brazil today. Brazilian leather supplier, JBS Couros, joined in the soft launch as well.
Nine facilities of varying sizes from all over the country were selected to participate in the soft launch. 3 Verifier Bodies are ready, with approved Verifiers for Brazil, to be the first to conduct an SLCP verification in the country.
Law Overlay Now LIVE in Indonesia
We are delighted to announce that the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) v1.4 Law Overlay is now available for Step 1 Data Collection in Indonesia on SLCP’s Accredited Host platforms: FFC and Higg.
The Law Overlay raises awareness of applicable legal requirements for the facility as well as enhances the quality of the final verified assessment report by ensuring legal non-compliances are captured and country law is applied consistently across verifications. The Law Overlay consists of two elements: National Labor Law (NLL) Guidance and Automated Law Overlay (read more about it here). A total of two Law Overlays are now LIVE: Bangladesh and Indonesia.
Check out Updates to our Public Verifier Bodies List
We have introduced new features to slconvergence.org/verifierbodies. With the new update, users can better understand how many Verifiers per country are associated with a single Verifier Body.
We have also included a table that shows Verifier Bodies that are approved for a country but do not have any Verifiers in that country yet. You can contact them directly and ask them to put candidates forward for SLCP approval.
An additional new feature also allows users to view a list of countries/regions with local Verifier capacity risks. We hope that these enhancements will enable users to find the resources they need in the countries and regions where SLCP is operational.
SLCP Position Paper – European Textile Strategy
In light of the European Commission’s public consultation for a European Textile Strategy, SLCP calls on the Commission and EU Member States to adopt human rights due diligence using a smart-mix approach. This involves not only mandatory legislation but integrated and coordinated policy measures. SLCP’s Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) is a globally recognized tool that is positioned to support and implement European due diligence efforts.
