SLCP Signatory NewsflashOur 2024 Annual Report is now published, important updates to the SLCP Signatory Model, SLCP now available in new countries, and more!
We are excited to announce the publication of our 2024 Annual Report! The report celebrates the progress we made in 2024 and marks a year of focused action and measurable progress for SLCP.
2024 was a year of growth for SLCP with significant milestones, including reaching 10,200 completed assessments in just one year and unlocking a potential $39 million USD to be redirected to improving working conditions through the use of the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF).
To further strengthen our Signatory model and promote equity, accountability, and transparency, SLCP has now implemented the updates shared in the last newsflash. The changes are:
New accountability requirements for Signatories regarding voting and survey participation
Updated Signatory Charter language to reflect accountability changes
Expanded Civil Society Caucus in the By-Laws to include academia and mission-driven non-profits
Revised fee structure to remove barriers to participation and to promote more equal representation
Manufacturers: signatory sign-up fee reduced to $200 USD
Civil society organizations: Permanent fee waiver
Audit firms: No longer required to be Signatories to act as Verifier Bodies
Since the launch of CAF v1.7, SLCP has expanded to 44 additional new countries. This expansion supports our ongoing efforts to reduce audit fatigue across the global supply chain. We are now opening up for assessments in Jordan and Nicaragua. In consultation with Better Work, we are also exploring opening up for assessments in Egypt later this year, focusing on non-Better Work facilities. In preparation for this, we are now accepting applications from Verifier Bodies for Egypt, as well as Jordan and Nicaragua.
If you’re a brand or manufacturer wanting to expand SLCP to a new country, start the conversation with your preferred service providers to build the necessary capacity where you need verifications.
If you need information about a supplier who has completed an SLCP assessment, you can find it on OS Hub, using the OS ID
In reverse, you can also search SLCP's public facility list using the OS ID and request access to their assessment details directly.
Stakeholders no longer have to manually figure out if the supplier name matches between organizations!
As more and more SLCP facilities adopt OS IDs, the ability to combine our dataset with other rich tools and services becomes increasingly more streamlined.
We are pleased to have wrapped up a successful series of facility training webinars, reaching over 1,800 attendees in Bangla, Chinese, English, Spanish, and Turkish! The sessions featured country-specific guidance on completing SLCP’s Converged Assessment Framework (CAF), including how to interpret and accurately respond to questions, and how to avoid common mistakes.
The recordings and slide decks from all sessions can be found on our Helpdesk.
Data Quality and Integrity Updates
Introducing the VB selection model: How SLCP empowers facilities to uphold data quality
As the data owners in the SLCP process, facilities play a key role in ensuring the quality and credibility of SLCP data. To strengthen this role, SLCP is introducing a new Verifier Body (VB) selection model, launching in Q1 2026, that helps facilities make more informed, performance-driven choices when selecting VBs.
