Launch of revised Human Rights Due Diligence Toolkit

The Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) is proud to have launched the Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) Toolkit 2.0 at an event in Amsterdam last night.

This revised version of the HRDD Toolkit includes updates to all chapters to ensure the document aligns with new information, and continues to be timely and relevant. It includes two new chapters that outline specific information about SLCP’s value-add for different supply chain actors, and for HRDD key principles.

The HRDD Toolkit aims to set out how the CAF can support stakeholders to implement HRDD and how SLCP data is aligned with emerging policy demands. We encourage you to share the toolkit with your networks.

'An Actionable Approach to Human Rights Due Diligence' by Janet Mensink

Published via the Sourcing Journal

SLCP CEO, Janet Mensink, is writing a series of guest articles for Sourcing Journal about the need to re-envisage the traditional social auditing model.

In the first of three articles, Janet explains why we must embrace more collaborative tools, such as SLCP, that provide credible and actionable data in implementing Human Rights Due Diligence. She highlights the impact such tools can have on creating lasting positive change for workers and supporting the implementation of emerging legislative requirements.

Factsheet: Enhancing social and labor compliance through responsible purchasing practices

SLCP partnered with Solidaridad to develop a factsheet exploring how the purchasing practices of brands influence legal non-compliances related to social and labor standards in textile facilities.

Insights from our data highlight that active stakeholder engagement is essential for tackling these compliance issues, as it cultivates stronger partnerships and encourages responsible purchasing.

SLCP’s UK brand meeting

Earlier in October, SLCP's COO, Steve Harris, along with Customer Success Senior Manager, Davina Reid-Phillips, and Support Manager, Sevinc Aktas Ilgun, facilitated the UK Brand Day in London.

Key Highlights from the day for attendees included:
  • Learning about the SLCP essentials
  • Diving into the SLCP, Cascale, and Worldly ecosystem
  • Gaining practical insights from Hirdaramani Group, PVH, and Ralph Lauren on using SLCP
  • Enjoying valuable networking opportunities for all attendees
It was great to see everyone there! A special thanks to our speakers for their insights, and to Ralph Lauren for making this event a great success.

Survey: Better buying want to hear from suppliers

The Better Buying Partnership Index survey is open until the end of October. If you’re a supplier, this is your chance to share valuable insights on how the purchasing practices of your brand and retail customers affect your business operations, sustainability efforts, and your ability to provide decent working conditions. Your feedback helps companies identify key areas for improvement in their purchasing practices, leading to better outcomes for all stakeholders.

It only takes 10 minutes to rate each buyer, and your responses are completely anonymous.

You can find the survey here

In 2023, we hosted our first in-person regional Quality Assurance forums for Verifier Bodies in Turkey and China. This year, the Data Quality & Integrity team is heading to India for the 2024 SLCP QA regional forum as part of the “SLCP week in India”.

This event is tailored for Verifier Bodies (VBs) in India, especially the regional Scheme Managers, Quality Managers, and local Quality Report Reviewers. During the session, we’ll dive into the key quality issues identified in SLCP data from India and share the steps we’ve taken to ensure high data quality. Through this in-person engagement, we aim to foster greater collaboration with VBs to deliver on our shared commitment to improve quality.

Stay tuned for more updates on the event.
