SLCP Newsflash 7 January
Dear SLCP signatories,
The SLCP team would like to wish all of our signatories a very happy start to 2021! Despite the ongoing challenges the world faces due to COVID-19, we hope the year brings you good health, peace and happiness. 2020 finished on a positive note for SLCP with over 1350 verified assessments completed throughout the year in total. SLCP Council Elections
Following the recent call for candidate nominations, we are now ready to hold elections for the SLCP Council. We are pleased to have 19 great candidates. There are 9 Council seats available. Find more information on the Council member role and profile, rules for this election and the candidates in the voting guide. Find a short overview of the candidates here. SLCP is owned and driven by its signatories. The Council represents the signatories and shapes the strategic priorities of the Program. We therefore strongly encourage you to participate in this election. Please note that only signatories that have settled the one-off signatory fee introduced in 2019 are eligible to vote. Please submit your vote through this voting ballot, by latest 1 February, CoB. We expect to announce the elected Council members by mid-February.
List of Manufacturers Implementing SLCP
Over 35 brands, retailers and organizations have now committed to accepting SLCP verified data instead of requesting proprietary audits. Based on feedback received, we have decided to also create a list of manufacturers implementing SLCP in their facilities. The list will help manufacturers to publicize their commitment to SLCP to buyers and other stakeholders. Manufacturers can opt into the list by completing this short survey.
Update to Signatory Charter
In the final Council meeting of 2020, the Council reviewed the SLCP Signatory Charter to ensure it remains relevant and fit for purpose The Council agreed some small changes to the wording of the Charter, highlighted here. This updated version will be the official Signatory Charter for 2021. Should you wish to raise any concerns about the amendments, or to withdraw as an SLCP signatory, please contact us at info@slconvergence.org.
New Quality Assurance Dashboard
In response to signatory requests for more information about SLCP’s Quality Assurance activities, the Verification Oversight Organization (VOO) has developed a publicly available dashboard summarizing QA activity and outcomes. We hope you will find this useful. Please send any feedback or questions on the dashboard to info@slconvergence.org.
SLCP Talent Pool
We recently published on our website an invitation for applications for potential part-time support work to SLCP in several specialist areas, including verification oversight and technology. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis to meet the evolving needs of the Program. Please share the vacancy notice with any candidates who might fit the profile and would be interested to join our team.

We are kick-starting the year with a signatory webinar on Thursday 21 January. You should have already received calendar invites for these; we have also included the zoom links below.
