Data Quality & Integrity Updates |
|
Reminder: Shadow Verifications offer the chance to deepen understanding of SLCP process
A Shadow Verification is an in-person observation of an SLCP verification, enabling organizations such as brands or standard holders to observe SLCP verifications firsthand.
By participating in a Shadow Verification, interested stakeholders can gain insights into how SLCP’s Verification Protocol is applied in practice, assess the Verifier’s performance during the verification process, and deepen their understanding of the SLCP process.
While onsite, stakeholders fill in the Shadow Observation Report and share it with us. SLCP carefully reviews all reports. If we identify violations of our requirements, we take appropriate action. This includes Corrective Action Requests (CARs) for Verifier Bodies (VBs), which impact the overall VB score. In this way, feedback from a Shadow Verification plays a key role in strengthening SLCP’s data quality.
Interested in conducting a Shadow Verification? Visit the Helpdesk to learn more about how to get started. |

Creating a system that incentivizes quality data
Data quality and integrity is the highest priority for SLCP. Last year we introduced mandatory desktop reviews for all new Verifiers and regional calibration webinars to address quality concerns specific to our focus countries. This year, we will continue taking action to ensure that providing quality verifications is incentivized amongst VBs. We are doing this by introducing new measures, including: changes to the Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Corrective Action Plan (CAP) process a fee for quality failures (fee-based CARs) a new VB scoring model an updated public SLCP Dashboard detailed, automated checks with mandatory corrections on each report
The key drivers of the new model are to incentivize VBs not to make repeat mistakes and be motivated to provide high quality and accurate reports. Stay tuned - More information will soon be available on the Helpdesk! |
