SLCP data now a recognized source for Cradle to Cradle Certified® Standard
The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute (C2CPII) and the Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to align efforts in reducing audit duplication and advancing data convergence across the textile sector.
Through this strategic partnership, SLCP’s Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) will be recognized as an accepted data source to meet the social fairness requirements of Cradle to Cradle Certified® (C2C Certified®) Standard.
Suppliers will now be able to use SLCP data to demonstrate compliance with C2CPII requirements, that workers are treated fairly and that suppliers uphold strong social practices throughout their supply chains. By enabling data sharing, C2CPII and SLCP are reducing duplicative audits and helping brands and suppliers to unlock efficiencies and redirect resources toward meaningful improvements.
The recognition of SLCP’s CAF to meet C2CPII’s social fairness criteria brings tangible benefits to the industry:
Reduced audit fatigue: Eliminates the need for duplicative audits and saving time and resources.
Greater alignment: Fosters industry-wide harmonisation, making it easier for brands to navigate compliance and certification landscapes.
Credibility and efficiency: By leveraging credible data that SLCP provides to meet C2CPII requirements, companies gain trustworthy social compliance information to support more informed decision-making.
Accelerated sustainability: Less audit duplication means more time and investment in improving working conditions and advancing circularity goals.
“We’re very proud to be moving forward in our partnership with C2CPII. Using SLCP data to demonstrate compliance with C2C standards is a positive and practical approach to reducing audit fatigue. Facilities will no longer be wasting time and resources on compliance for C2C if they already use SLCP. It’s a fantastic win for manufacturers and demonstrates the flexibility and compatibility of SLCP data.”
This partnership is a testament to what’s possible when two leading initiatives come together to simplify compliance and amplify progress.
“As part of our commitment to social fairness, companies are required to demonstrate that workers are treated fairly and that they uphold strong social practices throughout their supply chains. By recognising SLCP’s CAF as a valid tool to meet these requirements, we’re driving further convergence within the industry.
This acceptance streamlines the path to certification for suppliers and brands alike, enabling companies to focus on meaningful improvement actions.”
