Beyond compliance: How Maxport uses SLCP to drive impactful change

About Maxport

Maxport Limited is an international owned apparel manufacturer based in Vietnam, specializing in the production of high-tech activewear and lifestyle garments for the global market. The company utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques such as bonding, laser cutting and pleating to serve major international brands. Across its various production sites, the company maintains a total workforce of approximately 6,000 employees.

Maxport’s Experience with SLCP

SLCP has fundamentally shifted the relationship Maxport has with stakeholders from a transactional monitor-and-report model to a truly collaborative partnership. The shared data approach allows them to engage with brands focusing on continuous improvement, while having verified, high-quality data ready for any brand request at all times. The Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) effectively covers all of their Tier 1 facilities, ranging from specialized R&D sample-making site to mass production facilities with nearly 3,000 workers. The alignment between SLCP and other standards has been a significant advantage for Maxport, allowing them to maintain operational consistency while streamlining their sustainability efforts for greater impact.

Unlocking Value: Maxport Savings Through the CAF

Since adopting the CAF in 2021, Maxport has streamlined its compliance efforts by reducing multiple, overlapping brand audits across its facilities. The company completed its SLCP rollout in 2025, adopting the CAF at its final facility to take full ownership of its compliance data.

Over 50% of Maxport’s production volume is covered by brands accepting SLCP, leading to:

40% less audits

25% lower costs than traditional audits

Significant reduction in administrative burden, estimated at approximately 40%

The resources saved by eliminating redundant audits are strategically reinvested into Maxport’s management system enhancements and ‘beyond compliance’ projects. This reallocation of time and funding allows our team to move beyond basic monitoring and focus on proactive initiatives that directly enhance worker welfare and operational excellence.

SLCP’s Role in Maxport’s Continuous Improvement

The SLCP assessment process has enabled Maxport to identify the root causes of issues, particularly within health and safety. Thanks to the inclusion of Management Systems in Step 2 (Progressive) of the CAF, Maxport can now address these issues by targeting areas for improvement within their internal operations.

These systemic refinements, including clearer documentation and robust evidence gathering, have streamlined both verification and stakeholder communication, making everyday processes more functional and effective.

By reallocating the time and resources saved from traditional audits, Maxport has built a comprehensive management system aligned with international standards. This shifts the focus toward long-term preventive measures, empowering facility managers to build resilient internal processes rather than simply reacting to audit findings.

The most valuable feature is the “one assessment, many partners” model. By using a single verified data set, Maxport eliminates the need for multiple, overlapping brand-specific audits. The high granularity of the data and its neutral verification process provide a level of credibility that is more robust than traditional self-assessments.
