Welcome to the SLCP Signatory Newsflash!

07 October 2021

Dear SLCP signatories,

Please find the latest updates from SLCP below. For practical information on using the SLCP Converged Assessment Framework, please go to the SLCP Gateway.
Worker Engagement Technology Pilot
We are launching a pilot to test the use of worker engagement technology to better reflect the experience of workers in SLCP verifications. Read all about it here. We invite all signatories to participate in this pilot by either:
  • All signatories: joining the pilot committee (before the kick-off meeting on 12 October)
  • Manufacturers/ brands: nominating a facility to take part in the pilot (the facility must have a verification scheduled for November or December 2021)
Please email Irene in the SLCP team to get involved.
Planning for Updates to the Converged Assessment Framework
We have added a new FAQ to the Helpdesk that sets out the timeline for the next major and minor updates to the Converged Assessment Framework. The next minor updates (CAF v1.4.1) will be made in November and a full list of the changes is available here. Minor updates do not impact the mapping of SLCP data points to codes of conduct or other standards. The next major update (CAF v1.5) will be in Q2 2022. This FAQ explains the difference between major and minor updates.
Brands Accepting SLCP: Keeping our List Up To Date
There are now nearly 50 brands and organizations that accept SLCP data listed on our website. The list showcases SLCP adoption and helps manufacturers identify which of their business partners accept SLCP. However, sometimes we hear from facilities that they have been unable to share an SLCP verified assessment with one of the companies on the list. To help us look into these cases; keep our list updated; and facilitate communication between brands and facilities, we have now added a form to our website which facilities can use to report if a company on the list has refused to accept their SLCP data.
Webinar on Purchasing Practices
Two of our signatories, Fair Wear Foundation and the Better Buying Institute, are co-hosting a webinar to launch their new partnership on purchasing practices. The webinar will introduce you to the collaboration and provide information on how stakeholders can drive change in the industry with better data. If you would like to attend, please register here.
