2024 SLCP Board Elections – Call for Nominations
Amsterdam, 5 September 2024
Dear SLCP Signatory,
With this newsflash we are pleased to announce the upcoming SLCP Board elections and invite you to nominate candidates using this form. Please find all the details below.

What is the SLCP Board?
The Board is a strategic body which shapes the priorities of SLCP and ensures that it fulfils its mission & vision. The Board has ultimate responsibility and authority on key decisions, including on strategy, governance and budget. The Board is made up of Signatory representatives (9), Independent experts (3) and Strategic Partners (1-3).
The mandate of the Board is described in the SLCP Bylaws stored on the Signatory Platform.

Why are elections happening now?
SLCP became an independent foundation in February 2024. Previous Council members have moved over to the new Board. We will now initiate elections for the Signatory seats. As we want to ensure continuity, these seats will be (re)elected in a staggered way, through annual elections.
Therefore, 3 Supervisory Board seats will be up for election in 2024:
- 1 representative for Manufacturers,
- 1 representative for Brands / Retailers / Agents,
- 1 representative from other categories: Civil Society (NGO, Trade Union)

|
|
✅ Only Signatories with voting rights can participate in the elections and nominate candidates (from a Signatory organization). Self-nomination is also possible.

Who can be nominated for Board elections?
Here is the candidate profile (as set in the SLCP Bylaws) we are looking for:
- Relevant experience and/or expertise in relation to SLCP’s Vision & Mission, strategy and/or operations
- Strategic thinker/operator, with sound judgement, decision-making and communication skills
- Proficient in English
- All round basic understanding of finances to support informed decision-making, risk management, regulatory compliance, transparency and accountability
- Consensus-driven and collaborative working style
- Alignment with SLCP’s principles and values
- Willingness to champion the interests of SLCP externally, with Signatories and other stakeholders
- Able to act as an occasional sounding Board for the CEO
- Previous or concurrent Board service for other multi-stakeholder or not-for-profit organizations is a bonus.
- Requisite time and availability to serve (see details below).
In addition to this desired profile, SLCP strives for diversity in its board particularly on geographical/cultural background, gender, skillset and experience. Given SLCP’s strategy to gradually expand to additional industries, experience in non-apparel/adjacent sectors is a preference.

How does the election process and nomination work?
After eligibility and availability has been confirmed with the nominees, we will organize an online voting process. We expect to announce the newly elected Board members in mid December 2024.
We are looking for your help in recruiting suitable candidates. Signatories can (self) nominate one candidate, but also nominate candidates from other signatory organizations (own caucus or different caucus). Please complete one nomination form per candidate.
