Vacancy: Stakeholder Engagement Manager  

Full time position, 4-5 days per week, remote role (preference APAC or EMEA)

Position Description 

Key role in small Policy and Stakeholder Engagement team, working closely with the Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships Manager to drive new and deepen existing stakeholder relationships. This new role will be responsible for developing and executing SLCP’s manufacturer engagement strategy and managing SLCP’s efforts in engaging new non-commercial relationships. The Stakeholder Engagement Manager will also be responsible for coordinating and driving SLCP’s events plan. This remote role will report to the Senior Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1) Develop and execute SLCP’s manufacturer engagement strategy

  • Develop and manage a plan to ensure meaningful engagement from SLCP’s manufacturer stakeholders (signatory and non-signatories)

  • Coordinate organization wide efforts to enhance manufacturer voice in SLCP

  • Support SLCP’s Country Leads in engaging manufacturer and production country stakeholders

  • Lead on raising SLCP’s profile to manufacturers and trade unions

2) Lead SLCP’s engagement with new non-commercial stakeholders 

  • Support SLCP to identify, prioritize and secure opportunities for more formal partnerships and collaboration agreements

  • Lead on several key SLCP strategic partnerships, including with civil society and Multi Stakeholder Initiatives (MSIs)

  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and prioritization to support SLCP’s stakeholder engagement

3) Responsible for coordinating SLCP’s annual events plan

  • Prepare and organize events, webinars, and activities to engage signatories

  • In close collaboration with the Customer Growth team, lead on SLCP’s events planning

  • Support the execution of key events particularly those in production countries.

  • Attend and represent SLCP at industry events, increasing visibility. 

4) Support SLCP’s stakeholder engagement efforts

  • Support implementation of signatory engagement efforts

  • Enhance relationships with existing key stakeholders

  • Identify key trends and themes in stakeholder feedback and relay these to the relevant SLCP teams to support continual improvement 

  • Project manage delivery of collaborative projects with key partners

Qualifications & skills required

  •  5 years plus experience in a Stakeholder Engagement-related roles

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with native level English language skills and aptitude for public speaking

  • Service oriented and proactive approach to supporting SLCP stakeholders

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail; with ability to synthesize and prioritize feedback in the context of SLCP’s vision/ mission and strategic plan

  • Ability to mediate between internal and external stakeholders; to translate the needs of stakeholders for colleagues and to support in identifying solutions and improvements

  • Good project management skills, with ability to maintain buy-in and commitment from key project stakeholders in order to deliver results

  • Experience in the textile, garment, apparel sector/s desired

  • Knowledge/ experience engaging with SLCP’s existing network of stakeholders

  • Excellent intercultural, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic and challenging work environment

  • Team player who prioritizes based on the needs of the organization.

Employment, organization set-up and location

  • Full-time position with a competitive salary/compensation within a non-profit context.

  • The work week is based on 8 hours a day, with some requirement for flexible working to accommodate engagement with stakeholders and colleagues in different time zones;

  • Although headquartered in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), the role is not location specific and we welcome applicants who would work remotely.

  • The Manager will be part of the SLCP team and will report to the Senior Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, and will work closely with other SLCP colleagues and partner organizations.
