According to the 2022 SLCP Impact Report, SLCP manufacturers have saved an estimated $23m in costs by using SLCP’s converged assessment in lieu of traditional auditing. The findings show that the combination of reducing duplication and being able to share the data with numerous buyers has unlocked resources to be used for improvement programs for workers. Verifier body requirement v1.3 updates
Version1.3 of the Verifier Body (VB) Requirements is available here! The document outlines the requirements that SLCP VBs should meet to maintain their status as approved VBs.
The review impacted several sections of the document, for example:
Section 4. VB status suspension
Section 5. Lifting VB suspension
Section 14. Enhanced roles and responsibilities
Section 15. Emphasis on competence
Section 17. Streamlined training guidelines
Section 18. Improved calibration protocols
Section 23. Translator qualification
Section 27. Handling corrective action requests
Section 28. Effective corrective action plans
Relevant changes were applied to section 14 that describes the roles and responsibilities of VB administrators. Specifically, it now provides clearer insights into the responsibilities of the scheme manager. A novel role - the SLCP Quality Manager - has been introduced too. The Quality Manager will oversee the evaluations of the verification report, data and quality for all SLCP assessments conducted globally by the respective VB.
