A message of solidarity to all our stakeholders in Turkey
Our hearts go out to the communities affected by the destructive earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria earlier this week. SLCP stands in solidarity with all the victims, search and rescue crews, and our Turkish stakeholders as they navigate this difficult period. We offer our deepest condolences to all those bereaved, injured or displaced by this disaster.
Our signatory, the Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), in coordination with the official Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), has initiated an aid campaign to support the earthquake victims. Better Buying's data reveal minimal improvement in overall buyer-supplier partnership quality; gains seen in audit reduction efforts
According to the newly released Better Buying Partnership Index, which rated the purchasing practices of 160 brands and retailers, the quality of buyer-supplier partnerships in global supply chains has only slightly improved since last year. But on the positive side, the Index showed an increase (up 4.2% from last year) in the extent buyers make efforts to reduce duplicative audit requirements. Virtual side-session at OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector
On 13 February, Standard Convergence Initiative (SCI) will host a virtual side event to provide an update on the initiative at the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector. During the session, updated results on the extent standards holders are prepared to work towards convergence of standards will be shared (You can read the call to action from SCI here).
