New BBI Research - SLCP continues to be "win win" for workers and sustainable partnerships
The Better Buying Institute research showed 74% of savings from reduced audits are reinvested into the workplace and 24% on higher wages. Suppliers also reported a number of benefits from their buyer accepting SLCP’s Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) including; greater clarity on corrective actions reduced staff time devoted to auditing and money saved on auditing expenses .
Janet Mensink, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at SLCP said: “Once again the Better Buying Purchasing Practices IndexTMhas shown that converged assessments truly are a win win across the industry - for workers, suppliers and brands. Less audits mean less pressure on staff, more chance to address workplace issues, and greater opportunities for savings, which in turn means resources can be ploughed back into important improvements for workers, such as higher wages, new services and contributions to the wider community.”
Remember we are holding two webinar sessions at the end of February to provide a general overview of the main changes in CAF v1.6.

Big changes are happening on the data quality and integrity front. From January 2024 we have been moving towards full alignment with APSCA - the Association of Professional Social Compliance Auditors. This means we are introducing a new mandatory requirement for all Verifier Bodies (VBs) and Verifiers to align themselves with APSCA membership. The aim is for greater integrity and accountability within our processes. Alongside this new partnership, we remain steadfast in upholding our existing SLCP requirements.
Please note that APSCA membership doesn't automatically guarantee approval or continued approval by SLCP. Our commitment to quality and data integrity is paramount to us, and we're dedicated to ensuring excellence every step of the way.
Check the Verifier and VB FAQs on our Helpdesk for more information, and we will be updating all our other documents in the coming weeks.
AND...keep an eye out for the first “Data Quality Special Edition” newsletter in March, where we’ll delve into APSCA membership alignment in more detail.
