Stichting SLCP and Governance

Our History

SLCP was launched in 2015 by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) as a multi-stakeholder project aimed at converging social audits and improving working conditions in the global apparel industry. With the establishment of the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) - a universal tool that eliminates the need for proprietary audits - and having launched our first five-year Strategic Plan, SLCP has grown from a development project into a well-established and self-sustained initiative.

As we move into our next five-year strategic cycle, SLCP is ready to build on those solid foundations and progress our shared vision of creating decent working conditions in global supply chains.

Stichting SLCP

As of the end of September 2023 SLCP is registered as a non-profit foundation in the Netherlands (RSIN 865635298) known as a ‘stichting’. Our status as a public benefit organization (PBO or in Dutch ‘ANBI’) has been confirmed.

The official separation from the SAC and transition to an independent organization took place on 1 February 2024.

A Reinforced Vision and Mission

Our new Strategy is evolutionary taking on several proven elements of our first five-year cycle. But we have brought more aspiration and purpose to our Vision and Mission. Our Vision statement outlines the world we all want to see – one where decent working conditions in global supply chains are standard practice. Our Mission captures the distinctive role we play in realizing that Vision. Underpinning our Vision are four new Value Drivers that in turn have shaped a fresh articulation of our Strategic Aims.
