Signatory Survey 2023 – coming soon!

Please get ready for our annual Signatory Survey. Your feedback is really important. It helps us measure our progress, identify any areas for improvement, and plan effectively for the coming year.

We have over 250 SLCP signatory organizations so it would be great if as many of you as possible take part! Last year we had over 55% response rate; it would be brilliant to beat it this year! Look out for the special Signatory Survey newsflash next week!
SLCP in China!
China Roadshows and QA Regional Forum

In November, our team traveled around China focusing on expanding into new sectors - home furnishings and hard goods - and further into supply chains.

Key highlights: Delivered three impactful training sessions, facilitated four engaging workshops, conducted on-site facility visits, and connected with over 200 people in Keqiao, Suzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

🤔 Want to find out more about our expansion into new sectors? Watch our webinar
here.

We also hosted a QA Regional Forum in Shenzhen, with over 60 participants from 46 Verifier Bodies (VBs).

If you missed our latest webinar on SLCP's key developments in quality and integrity you can watch it again
 here.
Important Updates - Addendums and
CAF v1.6 documentation

Until further notice, the SLCP Addendum process is on hold!

What is the addendum process?
The Addendum process is used to correct any incorrect facility self/joint-assessment responses and Assessor/ Verifier selections that were not corrected before the verification was finalized (before VRF status).

Why are we putting it on hold?
Addendums are intended for exceptional purposes (see QA Manual section 8). In past months, we have seen the volume of Addendum requests increase significantly. It is a burden to SLCP, to the Verifier/Verifier Body, and also to the facility who wants to urgently get the corrected report to their buyers. We are re-evaluating this process for 2024.

What to do now?
To avoid edits of already finalized reports, it is now more important than ever that brands remind facilities to pay attention to report content and quality during their 14-day review period before finalizing the assessment report. At minimum, facilities should check the Verification/Assessment Summary with all Inaccuracies and Non-Compliances identified to ensure accuracy of outcomes and sufficient data to explain the situation.

We have issued a technical bulletin to Verifiers and Verifier Bodies to ensure they are aware of this change, they focus heavily on report quality, and they pay attention to any edit requests from the facility to make changes in time.

Thanks for your cooperation!

CAF v1.6 Helpdesk Resources Launched

Launch of v1.6 is planned for Q1 2024. There will be a launch webinar prior to launch date. Our first resource to inform you about Version 1.6 updates is live "Data Collection Tool v1.6: flat file for brands comparison with CoC ENGLISH”. Stay tuned for further updates as they become available. Next week we will be sharing a file to explain the differences between v1.5 and v1.6.

Last week, we launched our first of three briefs - "Navigating ESG reporting: insights and challenges." This series will shed light on the interconnect between SLCP and ESG. From evolving industry landscapes to mapping against the various indices and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) to the role of SLCP data - we're covering it all!
SLCP at the European Parliament - SLCP's Executive Director, Janet Mensink, and Policy Manager, Tom Mason, co-hosted a meeting at the European Parliament alongside MEP Adrián Vázquez Lázara. The meeting came at a critical time during the final Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD) negotiations. We used the opportunity to highlight SLCP as one of the existing Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives (MSIs) in the textile industry for supporting HRDD implementation.

SLCP at COP28 UAE - SLCP Council member Nikhil Hirdaramani spoke at COP28 UAE about the important interconnect between respectful and secure working environments as we move towards green systems.

SLCP at the Manufacturer Forum in Bangalore - Our representative in India, Reshma K T, shared invaluable data insights and explained the benefits of hearing the worker's voice through Worker Engagement Technology (WE Tech).

SLCP at ISPO Munich 2023 - Our Business Development Manager, Lottie Watkinson, presented insights on "Leveraging Collective Action for Human Rights" along with colleagues from Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Fair Wear Foundation.

SLCP at APSCA Annual Meeting - In November, SLCP's Senior Assessment & Quality Manager, Susanne Gebauer, attended the APSCA annual meeting in Atlanta Georgia, where she shared insights on ways verifiers can use SLCP’s
HRDD Toolkit to develop their knowledge on the relevance of global human rights due diligence policies when undertaking an SLCP verification.
